Your First Visit

Welcome to Art of Smile - Yonge and Eglinton! We're excited to meet you and provide top-notch care for your dental needs. You’ve booked your first visit with us—here’s a quick overview of what you can expect, from preparation to follow-up care. We aim to make your experience as comfortable and smooth as possible.

Before Your First Visit

  • New Patient Form and Medical History: We’ll collect your medical history to provide the best care tailored to your needs. You can download and submit our Intake Form before your visit.
  • Transfer of Records: Please send us any records from other dental offices, like x-rays and charts, to ensure continuity of care.
  • Dental Insurance Information: We get paid directly by your insurance for their portion of the payment. We coordinate this before your visit to manage coverage and ensure you receive the best treatment. Patients have the final responsibility to understand their own dental plans.
  • Estimate of Fees: Our fees align with the guidelines set by the Ontario Dental Association. If requested, we can provide an estimate of fees.

At Your First Appointment

Your first appointment is a special "New Patient Comprehensive" service at Art of Smile. We allocate 1.5 hours—compared to the usual 1 hour—to thoroughly understand your dental history and needs. This extended time ensures you are set up for success with your oral health. Our patients love the extra care we provide. Here’s what we’ll cover:

  • Meet and Greet: Your dentist will conduct a detailed oral health assessment.
  • Advanced Imaging: Utilizing AI-powered digital X-rays for precise diagnoses with minimal radiation exposure.
  • Professional Cleaning: Our hygienists provide thorough cleaning and polishing for healthier gums and a brighter smile.
  • Personalized Mapping: Creating a personalized mouth-map for targeted treatment and ongoing monitoring of your dental health.

Following Your Appointment

  • Routine Treatment Plan: A hygiene plan will be created, and your next appointment will be booked.
  • Follow-Up Care: If any additional work is required, a plan will be developed, and follow-up appointments will be scheduled as soon as possible.
